The Pakistani military is waging an intense operation against potential al Qaeda hideouts along the border with Afghanistan and pushing the fighters into more vulnerable urban areas. In turn, Pakistani authorities said Thursday, the military has been able to zero in on al Qaeda suspects with a new urgency, employing sophisticated U.S. eavesdropping technology and computerized identification systems.

This drive has led to the arrest of three al Qaeda operatives, a cache of computer files with detailed surveillance reports on terrorist targets, and information on the whereabouts of other al Qaeda members, according to Pakistani officials....

That's the lead of a story in tomorrow's Washington Post.

I said it a couple of days ago and I'll say it again: Maybe we're finally doing the right thing with regard to al-Qaeda. Or maybe we're finally getting the right thing done for us by the Pakistanis.

Bush got two Ivy League degrees, and I bet he got them just like this -- not doing any of his work until the last minute, and then using other people to help him get a passing grade.
