The party that is just appalled by that trash-mouthed Whoopi Goldberg reaches for a more refined sort of entertainment:

WE HEAR . . .

... THAT the GOP is reaching out to Kelsey Grammer, Lee Ann Womack, Kid Rock, Dennis Miller, Britney Spears and country stars Brooks & Dunn in hopes that they'll lend some star power to the Republican National Convention ...

--New York Post (Page Six)

Y'know, they'll probably have the good sense to avoid Britney, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're familiar only with Kid Rock's tamer hits and decide he's just the sort of regular guy to play well to their core demographic.

...which leads to the question: Which songs from his catalog should Kid serenade the Values Party with?

"Pimp of the Nation"? "Fuck U Blind"? "Balls in Your Mouth"? "Killin' Brain Cells"? "3 Sheets to the Wind (What's My Name)"? "Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp"? "Drunk in the Morning"?

And to think the Democrats were afraid to associate themselves with the Dead....
