IS MIKE BLOOMBERG SMILING JUST A BIT?

He's itching to run third-party, as a self-appointed antidote to polarization, but he seems unlikely to do so if Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee. An Obama win in the Democratic race was starting to seem inevitable -- until the votes started coming in last night. I think that makes Mike happy.

And in the GOP, yes, the allegedly non-polarizing John McCain is looking much stronger, but really, so is Huckabee -- he's leading in Florida according to a new poll, he's strong in Michigan, and, of course, he's leading the GOP nationally according to Gallup. Yet there's no sign that any non-secularist A-list candidates in the Republican race are thinking of dropping out, so Huck really could win quite a few states against a still-divided field.

Huckabee-Clinton? Dare Mike hope?
